Kirkton earned a Diploma from the Barnes Hospital School of Nurse Anesthesia, RN from Maryville University, and BA in History and Political Science from Webster University. She has served on the Webster Groves City Council since 2006.
Kirkton is a member of Food Outreach Incorporated, President/Board Member of the Jefferson Township Democratic Club, and a member of the League of Women Voters of Missouri Board, Missouri Association of Social Welfare Mental Health Task Force, and a founding member of the Saint Louis Women's Coalition.[1]
