Thompson won re-election in the 2012 election for Indiana House of Representatives District 28. Thompson ran unopposed in the May 8 Republican primary and defeated Jim Rainwater (L) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
2010
Thompson defeated Libertarian candidate Jim Rainwater and Independent candidate Danny Shipley with 15,629 votes. Rainwater received 2,605 votes and Shipley received 5 votes in the November 2 general election. [4]
In the May 4 primary election, Thompson ran unopposed and received 8,786 votes. [5]
