Cox earned his BA from Pensacola Christian College in 1992. He went on to receive his JD from Regent University of Law in 1996.
Cox has worked for the Rutherford Institute as a Government Affairs Coordinator. He has also worked as Chief of Staff for Pennsylvania State Representative Sam Rohrer.
In 2007, Cox joined the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. He has served in that position since, representing the 129th District.
