Culberson is a retired employee of the Mississippi Department of Transportation.

Culberson ran in the 2011 election for Mississippi House of Representatives District 56. He ran unopposed in the August 2 primary and was defeated by incumbent Republican Philip Gunn in the November 8 general election.[1][2]
