Jim Pettit was a Republican candidate for District 39 of the Maryland House of Delegates. The primary election was on September 14, 2010, and the general election was on November 2, 2010.

Three delegate seats are available in this district so Pettit advanced to the general election along with Republicans Al Phillips and Bill Witham. In the general election he faced incumbent Charles Barkley, incumbent Kirill Reznik and Shane Robinson.

Pettit lost in the general election on November 2, 2010, coming in fourth.[1]
