Bourland was defeated by incumbent Alan Nunnelee.[1] Bourland ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Mississippi's 1st District. As the nominee on the Constitution ticket, Bourland faced incumbent Alan Nunnelee (Republican), Brad Morris (Democratic), Danny Bedwell (Libertarian), and Chris Potts (Reform) in the November 2012 general election.[2]
