An effort to recall Jim Schneider from his position as a member on the Osage Beach Fire Protection Distreict board in Missouri was launched in 2009. Schneider ultimately resigned from his position.[1][2]

Background

Both the Camden and Miller County clerks offices received paperwork that would have begun the process of a petition to remove Schneider from his post. However, on July 6, 2009, Schneider resigned from his position amidst the recall campaign, declining to comment on his actions.[1][2]

The notice was filed by Osage Beach, Missouri resident Justin Farrell. Schneider, who was elected to the board in April 2008, was under fire due to allegations of misrepresenting taxpayers and mismanagement of district funds. At least 1,300 signatures of registered voters inside the district would have been required to trigger a recall election.[1]
