Jim Waring is a member of the Phoenix, Arizona City Council, representing District 2. He was first elected in 2011. On February 19, 2014, the Phoenix City Council elected him as Vice-mayor.[1]

Before becoming a member of city council, Waring was a Republican member of the Arizona State Senate, representing District 7 from 2003-2010.[2] He resigned from his Senate seat on January 28, 2010, to run for the U.S. House of Representatives.[3]

Biography

Waring was born in Hinsdale, Illinois. He holds a B.S. in Political Science from Northern Illinois University and an M.A. in Political Science, an M.P.A. and a Ph.D. in Public Administration from Arizona State University.[1]
