Welsh has worked as President/CEO of Hurricane Island Outward Bound, Deputy Director of the Natural Resources Council of Maine, and Director of Student and Academic Affairs at Rockport College.
She is Chair of the Knox County Committee of the Maine Community Foundation, and is a member of the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship Board, Maine Media Workshops Board, Common Good Ventures, Maine Development Foundation, Maine Women's Fund, and Riley School.[1]
