On March 29, 2010, Robideaux was elected Speaker Pro Tem, the first ever independent elected to that position.[2]
Robideaux is a certified public accountant. He is previously worked as Campaign Treasurer for State Senator Mike Michot, and an Adjunct Accounting Instructor at the University of Louisiana, Lafayette.
Robideaux is the Charter President of Kiwanis of Vermilion, and a member of the Acadiana Delegation and the Louisiana Rural Caucus.[3]

On October 22, 2011, Robideaux won re-election to District 61 of the Louisiana House of Representatives. He defeated W. David Chance (L) the October 22 primary. Because Louisiana uses a blanket primary system, a candidate can be declared the overall winner of the seat by garnering 50 percent +1 of the vote in the primary.

In 2007, Robideaux was re-elected to the Louisiana House of Representatives. He ran unopposed.[5]
