Broden was a member of the South Bend Common Council from 1995 to 1998.
Broden was Law Clerk for Indiana Supreme Court Justice Roger O. DeBruler from 1990 to 1992. He worked as Assistant Attorney for the City of South Bend from 1992 to 1995. He then worked as Attorney for the City of South Bend from 1998 to 2001. He is currently Adjunct Professor for Indiana University-South Bend. He is also an attorney for Leone, Halpin, and Konopinski, Limited Liability Partnership.
Broden earned his BA in Government and Interstate Affairs from the University of Notre Dame in 1987. He went on to receive his JD from Indiana University School of Law in 1990.
