John Knowles (b. March 16, 1947) is a former Democratic member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives, representing the Hillsborough 27 District from 2006 to 2010.

Knowles was a candidate for New Hampshire State Senate, District 14 in 2004; and for the New Hampshire State House of Representatives, District Hillsborough 66 in 2002, and District Hillsborough 23 in 2000 and 1996. His other political experience includes co-chair of Hudson Democratic Committee; member of Hillsborough County Democratic Committee; and New Hampshire Democratic Leadership Council.

Biography

Knowles earned his B.A. and BMus from Michigan State University and a PhD from Brandeis University. Knowles' professional experience includes technical writer for Digital Equipment Corporation and counter intelligence agent in the United States Army Intelligence Service.[1]

Knowles ran for re-election in the 2012 election for New Hampshire House of Representatives, Hillsborough 37. Knowles was unopposed in the September 11 primary and was defeated in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
