Campaign themes
Lauve has stated the following policy positions:
- China/Mexico
We need to stop “gifting” jobs to China and Mexico. Unfair trade is a MAJOR cause of our depression. The fix is to add a 25 % Tariff. China only owns 9 % of the U.S. Debt, not all of the debt. In fact, Japan also owns 9 % U.S. debt. The U.S. economy will continue to shatter until we stand up to China.
- Beer Lobby
“Property Tax Cut” The beer tax, 1.9 cents per bottle, is less than it was 50-years ago. If raised to 10 cents a bottle, we can cut property taxes by 2 mills. The Beer Lobby owns Lansing.
- School Reform
Districts must be consolidated and managed as a team. There are 800 school districts in Michigan, and 57 intermediate districts. We spend $23 Billion on education.
2010
Lauve was a Republican candidate for District 46 in the Michigan House of Representatives in the November 2, 2010 state legislative elections. He withdrew from this race prior to the primary on August 3, 2010.
