Wood won election in the 2012 election for Florida House of Representatives District 41. Wood defeated John W. Lindsey, Jr. in the Republican primary on August 14, 2012, and defeated Karen Cooper Welzel (D) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012. [3]

2010
Wood ran for re-election to the 65th District seat in 2010. He did not have any opposition in the August 24 primary. Wood defeated Joshua Davis (NPA) in the general election on November 2, 2010.[4]

On November 4, 2008, Wood won election to the Florida House of Representatives from Florida's 65th District, defeating Bob Hagenmaier (D). Wood received 35,398 votes in the election while Hagenmaier received 32,948 votes.[5] Wood raised $207,569 for his campaign; Hagenmaier raised $12,086.[6]
