Sloan ran in the 2012 election for Tennessee House of Representatives, District 69. Sloan was defeated by Wayne White in the August 2 primary election. Incumbent David Shepard ran unopposed in the Democratic primary, and Kenneth W. Buser is running as an independent. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[1][2]
