Perez ran in the 2012 election for California State Assembly District 60. He advanced past the June 5, 2012, blanket primary, defeating Greg Kraft (R) and Stan Skipworth (R). Perez was defeated by Eric Linder (R) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
