DeMare ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. Senate, representing Ohio. He won the Green Party Primary on March 6, 2012. DeMare faced incumbent Sherrod Brown, Josh Mandel (R), and John Fockler (L) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[3] Brown won.[1]
