Joseph Tropila (b. May 31, 1935) is a Democratic member of the Montana Senate, representing District 14.

Education

Tropila earned his BS from the University of Great Falls in 1961.

Professional experience

Tropila was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1957. He then worked as a Natural Gas Engineer from 1961 to 1965. From 1965 to 1988 he was a Restaurant/Lounge Owner.

Political experience

Tropila was a Clerk/Recorder for Cascade County from 1981 to 1993. He served in the Montana State House of Representatives from 1975 to 1980 and again from 1994 to 2002. He then joined the Montana State Senate in 2002. He has served in that position since, representing the 14th district.
