Wagner served as administrative aide to Office of the Mayor of Chicopee from 1988-1991.
He is a member of the Chicopee Boys and Girls Club Board of Directors, Chicopee Lodge of Elks #1849, and the Chicopee Visiting Nurses Association Board of Directors.[1]

Wagner won re-election in the 2012 election for Massachusetts House of Representatives Eighth Hampden District. Wagner was unopposed in the September 6 Democratic primary and was unopposed in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[2]
2010
Wagner won re-election to the Eighth Hampden Seat in 2010. He was unopposed in the September 14 primary. He also faced no opposition in the general election on November 2, 2010.[3]
