Mandel ran for election to the U.S. Senate in United States Senate elections in Ohio, 2012. He won the Republican primary on March 6, 2012 and lost in the general election.[1]
Biography
Mandel's professional experience is as the founder of The Groveland Company and an intelligence specialist for the United States Marine Corps, Iraq.
Education
Mandel earned a BA from Ohio State University, JD from Case Western Reserve University, and graduated from Marine Corps Intelligence School.[2]
Political career
Ohio Treasurer (2011-Present)
Mandel was elected as Ohio’s Treasurer on November 2, 2010. He was sworn in as the 48th Treasurer of the State of Ohio on January 10, 2011.[3]
Ohio House of Representatives (2007-2011)
Mandel served as a Republican member of the Ohio House of Representatives, representing the 17th District from 2007 to 2011.[4]

Elections
2014
Mandel announced he will seek re-election as state treasurer in the 2014 election.[5]
2012
Mandel ran for election to the U.S. Senate in 2012. He defeated four other opponents in the March 6, 2012 Republican Primary. Mandel faced incumbent Sherrod Brown (D), John Fockler Jr. (L), Joseph DeMare (G) in the November 6, 2012 general election.[6][7] Brown won.[1]
2010
Mandel was eligible to seek re-election to the House, but elected to run for treasurer instead. He won that election and assumed office in January 2011.
