Julian Carroll (b. April 16, 1931) has been a Democratic member of the Kentucky Senate since 2004. He represents the 7th district.
Education
Carroll earned his BA from the University of Kentucky. He went on to receive his LLD from the University of Kentucky College of Law.
Professional experience
Carroll is a Lay Minister for the First Assembly of God.
Political experience
Carroll served in the Kentucky State House from 1962 to 1971. From 1968 to 1971 he was Speaker of the House. He then served as Lieutenant Governor for the Commonwealth of Kentucky from 1972 to 1975. In 1975 he served as Acting Governor briefly. Carroll then became Governor in 1976 and served in that position until 1980. He joined the Kentucky State Senate in 2005. He has served in that position since, representing the 7th district.
