Biography

Takai's professional experience includes working as Owner of Pacific First Health Solutions, as a Public Health Educator with the Department of Health's Tobacco Prevention and Education Project, as Publications Coordinator in the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, University of Hawaii, and as a Hawaii Army National Guard Deputy State Surgeon. Takai served as a First Lieutenant in the Hawaii Army National Guard.

Takai won re-election in the 2012 election for Hawaii House of Representatives District 33. Takai defeated incumbent Heather Giugni in the August 11 Democratic primary and defeated Sam Kong (R) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3][4]
