Kalamazoo School District Bond Measure (May 2010)
This measure was approved
- YES 6,207
- NO 2,351
This measure sought to create a bond in the amount of $62 million in order to help with various building repairs throughout the district as well as replacing a school. District property taxes will not be raised because a bond payment finishes in 2011 so this new bond will just continue the current tax rate in the district. School officials had stated that this measure was important to the school district, without it much needed repairs wound have been put on hold when the schools needed them now. The current levy rate of 5.32 mills would stay in place instead of being reduced. The relacing of the Washington Academy was the largest project proposed with this bond money.
