The Kansas Right to School Finance Amendment did not make the 2012 ballot in the state of Kansas as a legislatively-referred constitutional amendment. According to reports, the measure would have changed the Kansas Constitution to require that lawmakers provide "equitable" state funding for schools, instead of "suitable," as the constitution had stated. Proponents of the measure hoped that the change in the constitution would have prevented future litigation filed against the state of Kansas. The measure failed in 2012 state legislative session.[1][2][3]
