Karen Gillmor was a Republican member of the Ohio State Senate. Gillmor served in the Ohio State Senate from 1992 to 1997. She rejoined the senate in 2009, and served until her resignation in July 2011. Gilmore resigned to accept a reccommendation by Governor John Kasich to the Ohio Industrial Commission as chairwoman.[1]

Gillmor has worked as a strategic planner. She is currently a consultant for the United States Department of Labor.

Gillmor earned her B.A. from Michigan State University. She went on to receive her MA and PhD from Ohio State University.
