Katherine Klausmeier is a Democratic member of the Maryland Senate, representing District 8. Klausmeier has been a member of the Senate since January 8, 2003.
Klausmeier received an A.A. from Essex Community College in 1971. She developed the Child Life Department at St. Joseph Hospital. Klausmeier has served as the PTA president at Gunpowder Elementary School (1978-89 & 1991-94); election judge for Baltimore County (1990 & 1992); education chair for the League of Women Voters in Baltimore County. Additionally, she is a member of the Child Life Council of America, Association for the Care of Children's Health, Easter Baltimore Area Chamber of Commerce, and the Perry Hall and White Marsh Business Assocation. Additionally, Klausmeier is an honorary life member of the Maryland Parent Teacher Association.[1]
Prior to serving as a state senator, Klausmeier served on the Maryland House of Delegates from January 11, 1995 to January 8, 2003.
