Kathy Afzali (b. May 27, 1957) is a Republican member of the Maryland House of Delegates, representing District 4A since January 12, 2011. Afzali was a 2012 Republican candidate seeking election to the U.S. House representing the 6th Congressional District of Maryland. Afzali was defeated by incumbent Roscoe Bartlett in the Republican primary on April 3, 2012.[1]

Biography

Afzali is a graduate of Mount Saint Mary's University, where she graduated cum laude with a degree in Business.[2]

Career

Afzali is a former Broadway actress and businesswoman. She is the founder and President of Access KDM Consulting.

Afzali ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House, representing Maryland's 6th District. Afzali sought the nomination on the Republican ticket. Candidates Charles Bailey, Robert Garagiola, Milad Pooran, Mark Shriver, John Delaney, and Ron Little ran on the Democratic ticket. Afzali was defeated in the April 3, 2012 primary by incumbent Roscoe Bartlett.[3]
