Kathy Brynaert is a Democratic member of the Minnesota House of Representatives, representing District 19B since 2013. She previously represented District 23B from 2007 to 2013.

Brynaert is Director of Parent Education for the Council for Health Action and Promotion.

She has served on the Mankato Area Public School Board since 1995, and has been Chair since 2004.

Brynaert is a member of the United Way Vison Council, North Central Association State committee, Chair and founding member of the Mankato Area Healthy Youth, Assembly Delegate on the Minnesota School Board Association/Vice Chair of the South Central Service Cooperative Board, and Youth Service Committee Chair on the Downtown Kiwanis Mankato. She is married and has 3 children.[1]

Brynaert won re-election in the 2012 election for Minnesota House of Representatives District 19SB. She was unopposed in the Democratic primary on August 14 and defeated Thad Shunkwiler (R) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
