Elections
2012
Waites ran in the 2012 election for Georgia House of Representatives District 60. Waites defeated Antonio Lewis, Gary Davis, William Fisher, and LaTrenka R. Riley in the Democratic primary on July 31, 2012.[4] The general election took place on November 6, 2012. [5][6] Waites ran unopposed in the genearl election.[7]

2012 Special Election
Waites defeated Latrenka Riley (D) and Theresa Middlebrooks (D) in the special election on February 7. In Georgia special elections, party affiliation is listed, but all candidates appear on the same ballot. Since Waites received over 50% of the vote, the March 6 run-off election was averted.[8]
