Ken Haar (b. 1943) is a member of the Nebraska Unicameral, representing District 21 since 2009.

Biography

Born in Freeman, South Dakota, Haar is a businessman and computer programmer living in Lincoln. He has Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Prior to his election to the Nebraska Legislature, he was a member of the Lincoln City Council, and the Lincoln/Lancaster County Board of Health. [1]

Haar has professional experience as a computer technology consultant and systems analyst for the US Life/National Arbor Day Foundation, TAG, and TMI. Haar has also worked for schools in Omaha and Lincoln, Nebraska, as well as Bronxville, New York, teaching chemistry, math, and physics. He was an inventor for Bearhooks Wilderness Food Hangers and is the founder and CEO of Compliance at a Glance.

Haar is involved with three organizations: the Lancaster County Board of Health, Lincoln Mediation Center, and the Nebraska Sierra Club.

Haar suffered a mild heart attack on April 26, 2013, returning to the Legislature less than two weeks later.[2]
