Ken Schilz (b. January 17, 1969) is a member of the Nebraska Unicameral, representing District 47 since 2009.

Born January 17, 1969 in Ogallala, Nebraska, Schilz is a farmer. Schilz earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1992.

Schilz worked as a farmer for McGinley Schilz Company from 1992 to 1995, and has since worked there as a supervisor.

Schilz began his political experience on the Nebraska Water Users Board of Directors in 1995. From 2000 to 2004, Schilz worked on the Governor's Platte River Advisory Committee. Since 2007, he has served on the Ogallala Planning and Zoning Committee.

Schilz is currently involved with a number of committees, including the Keith County Community Foundation Board of Directors, Knights of Columbus, Nebraska Farm Bureau, Ogallala/Keith County Chamber of Commerce, Saint Luke's Catholic Church, Keith County Community Foundation Board, Ogallala Elks Club, Ogallala Planning Commission Board, Water Education Committee for Lake McConaughy Visitors Center, Rotary Club, Keith County Area Development, Keith County Area Development, Western Irrigation District Member, Nebraska Water Users, Nebraska Water Users, Nebraska Cattlemen, and the Boy Scouts of America.

Schilz won re-election in the 2012 election for Nebraska State Senate District 47. Schilz was unopposed in the May 15 primary election and was unopposed in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[1][2]

2008

On November 4, 2008, Schliz won election to the 47th District Seat in the Nebraska Senate, defeating Bernard Fehringer.[3]
