Kent Kingsley was a 2012 Republican candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 3rd Congressional District of Georgia. Kinsley was defeated by incumbent Lynn A. Westmoreland in the Republican primary on July 31, 2012.[1]

Biography

Kingsley holds both a B.A. and M.A. in Political Science and is a graduate of the Army’s Command and General Staff College where he earned the designation of an Army Strategist.[2]

Career

Kingsley is the Broker/Owner of Traditions Realty in Milner, Georgia.[3] He retired from the Army in 1996 after an extensive career that included assignments in Panama, Korea, Germany and the first Gulf War.[2] He retired in the grade of Lt. Col.[2]

Kingsley ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. House to represent Georgia's 3rd District. Kingsley sought the nomination on the Republican ticket.[4] Candidates wishing to run were required to file by the signature filing deadline of May 25, 2012. The primary elections were held on July 31, 2012. Kingsley was defeated by incumbent Lynn A. Westmoreland in the Republican primary.[1]

Personal

Kingsley has been married to Joy Weldon Kingsley for 40 years and they have two grown children and one grandchild.[2]
