Kevin Cookson was a 2012 Democratic candidate for District 82 of the Maine House of Representatives.[1][2]
 Cookson owns his own investigative business and was previously a detective with the Kennebec County Sheriff's Office.  He attended University of Maine-Augusta where he studied political science and criminal justice.  He graduated from the Maine Criminal Justice Academy.[3]

Issues

Cookson agrees spending needs to be cut, but he does not believe that money should be cut from Medicaid. He also says education needs to be funded at least 55% before other programs are funded.[4]

Cookson ran in the 2012 election for Maine House of Representatives District 82. Cookson lost against Craig Hickman in the Democratic primary on June 12, 2012. Scott Davis (R) ran unopposed in the Republican primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012.[5][6]
