Transparency & public records

Circuit Court records

King and Queen Circuit Court Clerk Deborah Longest opposes publishing court records, and therefore does not make county court records public. Longest holds that untrained readers may misinterpret the documents. The Richmond Times-Dispatch editorial board, however, wrote that all but three of Virginia's 120 counties do make basic court information public and have not reported any issues.[8]
