Jones ran in the 2012 election for Georgia House of Representatives District 62. Jones and Marvin Arrington defeated Kip Carr and Benny Crane in the Democratic primary on July 31, 2012, moving on to an August 21 runoff. Jones defeated Marvin Arrington in the Democratic runoff primary on August 21, 2012.[2] No candidates filed to run in the Republican primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012. [1][4][5] Jones ran unopposed in the general election.[6]
