A Lake Placid City Government Change measure was on the November 2, 2010 ballot in the city of Lake Placid which was in Highlands County.

This measure was defeated

  • YES 17 (30.6%)
  • NO 32 (69.3%)Defeatedd[1]

This measure had been scheduled for a special election on July 27, but was changed to the general election in November due to confusion by local residents who were unsure of the issue and what was being decided. Officials were trying to plan a public forum to better educate residents in time for the election.[2]

This measure asked voters if they wanted to change the city government from a mayor/council form to a town manager form. The new form of government would take control from the mayor and instead give it to the council members.[3]
