August 5, 2008 ballot in the Lakeview public school district, located in Calhoun County in Michigan, where it was defeated.
The election was scheduled by a vote of the district's school board.
The ballot question facing voters was whether to approve new district indebtedness of $55.46 million for the purposes of "Erecting, furnishing and equipping two new elementary schools, acquiring and installing educational technology improvements and developing and improving sites and playgrounds."
