A Langley City Government Change Question was on the August 16, 2011 ballot in the city of Langley which is in Island County.

This measure was defeated

This measure sought to change the city's form of government from the strong-mayor type to a council-manager form. The current form of government allows residents to directly vote for the city mayor, but the council form would have had the city council electing the mayor instead of residents. The city council had moved this measure from the November ballot, most of them did not wantt to have the government form changed.[2]
