Border earned his BS from the West Virginia School of Pharmacy in 1975.
Border worked as President of Larry Border Contracting, Limited Liability Company. He also worked as a farmer, developer, and President of Eastwood Investment Company. He worked as a Pharmacist for Nelson's Drug Store, Phil's Pharmacy, and Revco Pharmacy from 1975 to 1980, 1981 to 1982, and 1982 to 2011, respectively.[1]

Border was re-elected to the West Virginia House of Delegates District 9. He was one of two candidates running for the one District 9 Delegate position on the ballot in the November 2, 2010 general election. He defeated Democrat Jim Marion.[2][3][4][5]

In 2008 Border was re-elected to the West Virginia House District 9. Border (R) finished with 4,308 votes while his opponent Jim Marion (D) finished with 3,237 votes.[6] Border raised $18,600 for his campaign fund.[7]
