Luick graduated from North Dakota State College of Science and holds certificates in contracting, water works, pipe laying, design, and inspection. He has been a teacher at Fairmount High School, opened Luick Backhoe Services and has his own farm which has been certified organic since 1990.[1] He and his wife Yolanda have five children, Kegan, Laura, Landon, Kali, and Kamron.
