Larry Roberts is the Kentucky Secretary of Labor Cabinet. He was appointed to office by Governor Steve Beshear effective May 16, 2013.[1][2]

Biography

Prior to his appointment to Secretary of Labor Cabinet, Roberts was serving as director of Kentucky State Building & Construction Trades Council.[3] He had served in other positions in the cabinet, including director of the Division of Employment Standards, Apprenticeship and Training.[2] He had also been involved with the Governor’s Task Force on Unemployment Insurance, and served as the labor representative on the Kentucky Prevailing Wage Review Board. Roberts is also a member of Plumbers & Pipefitters Local 452 and I.U.O.E. Local 181.[2]

Appointments

2013

Roberts was appointed secretary by Gov. Beshear (R) for a term effective May 16, 2013. He replaced Mark S. Brown, who served in this position from his appointment on December 1, 2010 to his resignation May 15, 2013.[4][5] As labor secretary, Roberts serves at the pleasure of the governor.
