These measures sought to replace the current expenses levy with one set at a rate of $.50 per $100 of assessed property value for a further five years in order to continue to pay for current expenses in the village.[2]
Text of measure
The question on the ballot:
| A replacement tax for the benefit of the Village of Laurelville for the purpose of current expenses at a rate not exceeding five (5.0) mills for each one dollar of valuation, which amounts to fifty cents ($0.50) for each one hundred dollars of valuation, for five (5) years, commencing in 2012, first due in calendar year 2013. |
