The League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) is the largest and oldest Hispanic organization in the United States. Founded in 1929, it started when Hispanics were being denied basic human rights. Created to empower members and provide them opportunities, the LULAC has expanded greatly since its creation.[1] "The Mission of the League of United Latin American Citizens is to advance the economic condition, educational attainment, political influence, housing, health and civil rights of the Hispanic population of the United States."[2] the LULAC has a network of 135,000 community volunteers, 880 local councils, 60 community technology centers and 15 LULAC National Educational Service Centers in which it uses to create opportunities for Hispanic Americans.The LULAC has representation in 34 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.[3]

Leadership

The LULAC is governed by their National Board of Directors which is comprised of 25 members.[4]
