Lee Whitnum is an Independent candidate for Governor of Connecticut in the 2014 elections.[1]

Whitnum last sought statewide office in 2012, running as a Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate representing Connecticut. She was disqualified from the race.

Biography

Whitnum earned her B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Maryland and her Master's in administration, planning and social policy from Harvard University.

Whitnum is the author of two novels: Hedge Fund Mistress, a mainstream novel, and What About the Dead? a young adult novel.[2] Whitnum’s latest book, Anti-AIPAC, not Anti-Semitic: The Israel Lobby's Dangerous Control of Congress is due out soon.[2]

She is also a software engineer and anti-Israel activist.

Whitnum is running for Governor of Connecticut in 2014 as an Independent.[1][3] The general election takes place November 4, 2014.

2012

Whitnum ran in the 2012 election for the U.S. Senate, representing Connecticut. Whitnum sought the nomination on the Democratic ticket.[4] The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run was June 12, 2012. The primary elections were held on August 14, 2012.

2010

In 2010, Whitnum ran as a democratic candidate for the U.S. Senate in Connecticut.[2] Richard Blumenthal (D) won the primary and the seat.

2008

In 2008, Whitnum ran as a Democratic candidate for U.S. Congress in the 4th Congressional District in Connecticut. She lost in the primary to Jim Himes (D).[2]

Personal

Whitnum, who is single, resides in Greenwich, Connecticut.[2] She has no children.[2]
