Lillie earned his BA in Political Science from Luther College and attended Nottingham University in the United Kingdom.
He works as a baggage handler for Northwest Airlines. Prior to joining the House, Lillie served on the City of North Saint Paul Council from 1995-2004.[1]

Lillie won re-election in the 2012 election for Minnesota House of Representatives District 43B. He was unopposed in the Democratic primary on August 14 and defeated Kevin Klein (R) in the general election on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
2010
Lillie won re-election to the District 55A Seat in 2010. He had no primary opposition. He defeated Nathan Hansen (R) and Joseph Polencheck (Independence Party of Minnesota) in the general election on November 2, 2010.[4]
