Lincoln Club of Orange County

The Lincoln Club of Orange County was founded in 1962 "by a group of prominent Southern California businessmen whose goal was to bring a business sense to politics." It is aligned with what it describes as "a wide spectrum of beliefs within the Republican Party" with a particular emphasis on "limited government, free enterprise, the rule of law, and the preservation of individual liberty."

Robert W. Loewen is the group's president. He is a partner in the law firm of Gibson, Dunn, & Crutcher.

Political accomplishments

  • The LCOC was a significant source of funds for collecting signatures to recall Gray Davis in 2003.
  • The LCOC has registered 40,000 Republican voters in Orange County.
