Lindsay Sales Tax Measure G (June 2008)
From Ballotpedia
The Lindsay Sales Tax Measure G appeared on the June 3, 2008 ballot in Tulare County, California, where it was defeated. It would have authorized a 3/4 cent sales tax in Lindsay. Had it passed, Lindsay's current sales tax of 7.75% would have increased to 8.50%, tying Dinuba for the highest sales tax in the county.
The tax was opposed by Lindsay resident Timothy Daubert, who said that half of Lindsay's residents live near or below the poverty level, and "This tax will drive away customer's money from Lindsay's retail stores."
