Lisa Brown (b. October 9, 1956) is a Washington state senator, representing the 3rd district for four consecutive terms.[1] She currently serves as Majority Leader and is a member of the Democratic Party.
Education
Brown earned her BA from the University of Illinois in 1974. She went on to receive her MA in Economics from the University of Colorado in 1991. She then earned her PhD in Economics from the University of Colorado in 1996.
Professional experience
Brown worked as an associate professor for Eastern Washington University from 1981 to 2001. She has worked as an associate professor in Organizational Leadership at Gonzaga University since 2001.
Political experience
Brown served in the Washington State House of Representatives from 1993 to 1996. She has served the Washington State Senate since 1997. In 2003 she was the Democratic Leader in the senate. Brown has served as Majority Leader since 2005.
