Lisa Curtis is a former Democratic member of the New Mexico State Senate. She was appointed to District 21 in 2012, replacing Kent Cravens.
Her appointment was controversial because she replaced a Republican senator. Governor Susana Martinez did not agree with the decision by the county commissions to nominate a Democratic candidate to replace a Republican legislator.[1]

Curtis ran for re-election in 2012. She ran unopposed in the June 5, 2012 Democratic primary, and was defeated by Mark Moores (R) in the general election which took place on November 6, 2012.[2][3]
