Measure G asked voters to approve a parcel tax of $95/parcel for four years.
The election was administered on a mail-in ballot-only basis. The cost of administering the mail-in election was estimated at $9.00/voter.[1]
At the time of the election on Measure G, Loma Prieta had about 400 students.[2]
A 2/3rds supermajority vote was required for approval.

After the loss
After the narrow loss, disappointed supporters launched a "lemonade fundraiser": They set up a lemonade stand in front of Building Blocks Preschool on Summit Road and at the Building Block flea market where they planned to sell $95 glasses of lemonade to the approximately 1,000 voters who voted "yes" on Measure G.[3]

| Measure G: "To retain qualified and experienced teachers, keep schools safe and clean, maintain high quality academics, including reading, writing, math, and science, continue a well-rounded education including Spanish, art, and other educational enrichment programs, maintain updated computer technology, and maintina small class sizes, shall Loma Prieta Joint Union Elementary School District authorize an annual school parcel tax of $95 per parcel for four years, with an exemption for seniors, no funds used for administrator's salaries, and every dollar staying in local schools?" |
